Kaduna presents bid to host 2022 Festival– The state of Kaduna has announced plans to host the National Sports Festival in 2022.

In a brochure published by the Kaduna State Sports Ministry, Governor Nasir El-Rufai said they wanted to raise the bar after hosting the 16th edition of the festival.

“We have already started to modernize the facilities used in 2016 to meet current standards,” the brochure says.

Host the biennial event and advocate for the approval of the Kaduna State Sports Council to host the 2022 National Sports Festival. ”

The state of Kaduna is applying to host the festival for the third time.

It was the first of the third edition in 1977 and had another successful hosting in 2009.

Some of the proposed venues include Kaduna Club, Murtala Square, Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna Township Stadium, Kaduna State University, Nigerian Defense Academy, Police Academy, and Kaduna Polytechnic

The state added that construction of seven new stadiums in Kaduna, Zaria, Kafanchan, Kachia, Lere, Birnin Gwari and Saminaka has begun.
