We prayed against Yinka Odumakin’s death when it was revealed to us – Brother  – Elder Yinka Odumakin, spokesman for Afenifere, pastor Jacob Odumakin, on Monday predicted the impending death of a rights activist.

Yinka died on Saturday while battling a respiratory illness caused by COVID-19.

Chief Odumakin in an interview with our correspondent said a prayer meeting was set up to avoid the death.

He also said that although the unexpected happened again, the priests comforted Yinka’s grandfather when he was informed of the death, adding that their mother was unhappy.

“There is a prophecy that we should pray for Yinka and the new tree does not fall any more than it dries up. What that means is that our father, who is 95 years old, is alive and 56 years old, the last child our father left behind. ”

Rev. Odumakin said director Afenifere told the family that the funeral would be organized.

Meanwhile, the Association for the Promotion of Love and Love and in a statement by the organization’s public secretary, Mrs. Ajibola Falode, said the deceased Odumakin will be missing.

Tinubu, who visited Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin around 2pm, told him that Yinka loved his heart and that his death was a great loss.

Tinubu later told reporters that Odumakin had helped establish democracy in the country.

He said, “Odumakin’s Death and I, along with others, rallied during the struggle for the impact of the June 12, 1993 presidential election won by the late MKO Abiola.”

According to him, even though he and Odumakin eventually had a quarrel, that was after they ousted the military from power.

Widow Yinka said she believed Yinka made her in heaven as she approached God, saying it was only comfort.

Also, the former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, who was also at home praying for Odumakin’s wife, elderly parents and Afenifere family and the letter of condolence he signed.

“Beloved one — what shall we say to the Lord? All we have to say is thank you, Lord. We thank the Lord for His wonderful life. May the Almighty give you eternal rest. But let He leave his wife, children, his elderly parents, the whole Odumakin family and Afenifere. Amen – Adieu – Yinka, ”Amosun wrote in the letter.

Ekerefe said the Ijaw youths celebrated Odumakin and received inspiration from a well-organized promotion for Nigeria that would reflect the principles of justice, fairness and goodness.

Afenifere canceled the monthly meeting

Following Odumakin’s death, Afenifere adjourned his monthly meeting in Akure, Ondo State.

The development was highlighted in a statement by the secretary-general’s secretary, Mr Adeleke Mabinuori.

The statement read, “Chief Executive Officer, Chief Ayo Adebanjo has asked me to inform you that the Afenifere meeting held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 has been canceled.

“This is a tribute to the late Afenifere media secretary, Mr. Yinka Odumakin. Please wait for more instructions.”
