Admissions Arrangements For 2021 Undergraduate Entry Into Bolton University

Each year, the university carefully reviews its admissions procedures for admission to the next academic year. When making decisions about admission agreements, we consider a number of factors including: the academic performance of students who recently entered college, the external environment in which we operate, and feedback from students, schools, and colleges.

The following regulations apply to participants studying at the university.

We recommend applications from international students who wish to study at the University of Bolton. There’s a reason our students voted us # 1 for Student Happiness in Greater Manchester (Complete College Guide 2021).

When it comes to the application process for international students, we try to make it as simple as possible.

Admission and entry requirements for individuals and the EU
The University of Bolton accepts applications from students of all backgrounds, and each applicant is judged on their own merits according to the student admission guidelines and criteria established for the specific course.

We accept UCAS credits from subjects such as general studies and critical thinking at the A2 / AS level for most courses. We also accept up to 16 points from Level 3 & 4 Key Competencies, Independent Math Scores, or Higher Sports Leaders Awards. You can also combine points from different degrees, as long as they do not belong to the same subject.

Each applicant must have five GCSEs in the fourth grade or higher or equivalent. For some courses, this must include English and math. All this information can be found on the page of the respective course.

In addition to all this, applicants must also have academic references and a personal statement.

References are an important part of the application process and should contain the following information:

Presence and punctuality

Academic achievement

Time management skills

Information about extracurricular activities

In the meantime, your personal statement is your opportunity to explain why you are a great student and fit well with the course you have chosen. This will help identify who will be admitted to the course in addition to academic performance and can describe:

Why do you want to do the course?
Where the course will take you
Information on paid or unpaid work experience

Your interests and hobbies
